This is Hardcore by Pulp was UK No 1 album 20 years ago today

Pulp-This_Is_HardcoreThis Is Hardcore is the sixth album by English band Pulp. It came three years after their breakthrough album, Different Class, and was eagerly anticipated.

It was No 1 for one week and was certified Gold.

Def_Leppard_-_AdrenalizeAdrenalize is the fifth studio album by English rock band Def Leppard. The album was the first by the band following the death of guitarist Steve Clark in 1991. “We had recorded demos on multitrack,” recalled fellow guitarist Phil Collen. “I was sitting there with him when he played the original parts. I could relay that. But it was like playing along to a ghost.”

It was No 1 for one week and was certified Gold.

At No 1 in the UK Singles Chart this day in music history

R-551583-1295334932.jpeg“How Do You Do It?” was the debut single by Liverpudlian band Gerry and the Pacemakers. The song was number one in the UK Singles Chart for three weeks.

The song was offered to Adam Faith and Brian Poole but was turned down. George Martin decided to pick it up for the Beatles, who recorded the song but felt it did not fit their sound.
